Chemi-Pure Elite takes Boyd's original formula — activated carbon and ion-exchange resins — and adds ferric oxide (GFO): the pouch now goes after phosphates and silicates on top of dissolved organics, metals and odors. The result: less fuel for nuisance algae, a steadier pH, water that stays clear. Boyd also folds in its QuickWash carbon. Six sizes, from the 3.1 oz Mini (88 g) to the 46.98 oz Grande (1.33 kg), including two 6-packs.

Keep the sealed pouch moist until use. Rinse it under running water for 5 to 10 seconds, then place it in a high-flow area of your sump, canister or hang-on-back filter — or in a reactor like the Aquaforest AF110. Running several pouches? Boyd recommends swapping one per week rather than all at once. During a Chemiclean treatment, pull the Elite and put in a fresh one afterward.

Grande or 6-pack
