The Hanna Checker® bridges the gap between simple chemical test kits and professional instruments. Chemical test kits are not very accurate and only give 5-10 point resolution, while professional instruments can cost hundreds of dollars and can be time consuming to calibrate and maintain. The Checker® is both accurate and affordable.
Compact and portable design
Built-in timer
One-button operation
Nitrification is the biological oxidation of ammonia (ammonium ion) to nitrite followed by the oxidation of nitrite to nitrate. The first step of this 2-step process is carried out in an aquarium by nitrifying bacteria. During this rapid process, ammonium levels drop while nitrite levels rise. Since nitrite is just as harmful as ammonia, nitrite levels must be kept at immeasurable levels. A mature biological filter should be able to keep nitrite levels low. Additionally, if tap water is to be used in an aquarium, it is recommended that it be tested for phosphate, as well as silicate, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH, and alkalinity.
The HI764 Checker® portable colorimeter bridges the gap between simple chemical test kits and professional instruments. Chemical test kits are not very accurate, while professional instruments can cost hundreds of dollars and can be time-consuming to calibrate and maintain. Hanna Checker® are accurate, affordable and easy to use.
To begin measurements, first zero the instrument with your water sample. Then add the reagent. Finally, place the vial in the Checker®, press the button and read the results. It’s that simple.
The sleek styling of these Checker® fits perfectly in your palm and pocket and the large LCD display is easy to read. The auto-off feature ensures that battery life won't be drained if you forget to turn it off.
