GoldXLightning Maroon (Amphiprion biaculeatus)
Description:
The Lightning Maroon is a naturally occurring designer clownfish. They feature unique patterns that resemble lightning bolts. Their coloration will darken and the patterns often intensify as the fish matures.
Natural ecology:
This variant of Premnas biaculeatus is only rarely found in the wild.
Behavior:
Like all clownfish, Premnas biaculeatus is a sequential hermaphrodite. The largest individual present will exert dominance and become a breeding female. The next largest fish will become a breeding male. The female will not tolerate other smaller individuals.
Compatibility:
Generally ignores reef invertebrates and corals. Clownfish sometimes adopt various corals and algae as substitutes for host anemones.

Reefsolution specimens have been weaned onto aquarium pellets and flakes. Freshly frozen invertebrates such as ocean plankton, Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and chopped squid will be readily accepted.
