Hikari Bio-Pure frozen jumbo blood worms are the large-format version of the regular blood worm. Two pack sizes: 3.5 oz (100 g) cubes and a 16 oz (454 g) flat pack.

Who it is for — and who it is not for
Hikari is clear: this product targets larger freshwater fish that prefer a meaty offering. It names eels, larger discus, American cichlids, some amphibians and aquatic turtles.
If your tank holds small fish, this is the wrong size: a jumbo worm is too big for a small mouth. Go with the regular blood worms, available in four pack sizes including a mini cube.
And like the regular blood worms, jumbo is not a reef tank food: the manufacturer names no marine species at all.
About worm size
The product is called jumbo and Hikari describes a larger size, ideal as a meaty meal for bigger carnivores. The manufacturer publishes no precise size comparison on its current page. How to feed it
Feed no more than your fish consume within 30 to 45 seconds, and no more than twice daily. Remove whatever is left once the feeding period ends.
Hikari repeats it on every sheet: live or frozen food can spoil a fish to the point where it refuses its formulated diet. Feed it for variety, not as a replacement for complete nutrition.
Manufacturer warning: handling frozen food derived from a live animal can cause the same allergic reaction as handling the live animal itself. Wash your hands thoroughly immediately after use, and before any contact with your nose or mouth.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between jumbo and regular blood worms?
Worm size, and the audience. Hikari intends the regular ones for most freshwater environments and limited marine use; it reserves jumbo for larger freshwater fish that prefer a meaty offering. The analysis differs too: jumbo runs min. 3.0% protein at max. 96% moisture, against min. 3.5% at max. 95% for the regular.
Is it suitable for a saltwater aquarium?
The manufacturer names only freshwater species, amphibians and aquatic turtles. For a marine tank, brine shrimp or mysis are the better fit.
How often should I feed it?
Twice daily at most, giving only what is taken within 30 to 45 seconds.
Shipping note: frozen food ships express in an insulated cooler with ice packs. Partial or complete thawing during transit is normal — especially in summer — and does not affect the product's quality for your fish. Dry ice would cost a fortune with zero quality benefit; we don't offer it. Be there to receive your package and place it directly in your freezer upon delivery.
