TetraColor — flakes that boost the colors of your tropical fish

Tetra TetraColor Tropical Flakes is a color boosting flake food for tropical fish, available in 62 g (2.2 oz) and 200 g (7.06 oz) containers.

Per the directions published by Tetra: « Feed two to three times per day, only as much as your fish can consume within three minutes. » The manufacturer designs TetraColor flakes for tropical fish that feed at the top and middle water levels.

Formula and benefits according to the manufacturer

Tetra presents TetraColor as a complete diet for tropical fish: its « Active Life » formula combines antioxidants, proteins and prebiotics, and its clear water recipe will not cloud the water when used correctly. Tetra also reminds aquarists that uneaten food can cause water-quality problems — hence the three-minute rule.

Tetra does not publish a guaranteed analysis on its product page: the exact TetraColor percentages are printed on the box label. If you see numbers elsewhere, they do not come from the manufacturer.

The ReefSolution tip

To feed my saltwater fish, I like to alternate between flakes and pellets. But with flakes, there's a little trick I always use: I pinch them between my fingers and dip them in the water for a few seconds before feeding. They soak up water and sink much better, instead of scattering across the surface and through the whole water column. It's simple, but it gives you much better control over the food and keeps it from ending up all over the tank. I also like to soak my food in Vita-Chem to improve color and strengthen the fish's immune system.
