The Vitalis Marine Grazer Mini turns feeding time into natural grazing. Each water-stable ring attaches to the aquarium glass with the suction fixing included in the pot, creating a feeding station where tangs and other marine herbivores graze throughout the day — just as they would on a reef. Because the ring holds together in water, less food breaks loose, which means less waste and better water quality in your reef tank.

120 g or 240 g?

Both sizes contain the exact same rings and the same formula. The 120 g pot is ideal to try the product or feed a single tank with a few grazers; the 240 g pot offers a better price per gram for heavily stocked tanks or multi-tank fishrooms.

Our advice

The Marine Grazer Mini is the compact version of the regular Grazer: the ring is small, but it is highly concentrated — there is a lot of food in there, and one pot goes a long way, even across several tanks. The one mistake to avoid is letting the ring drop to the bottom once the fish have had enough. The first few times, watch how long your fish actively graze, then remove the ring before it detaches and gets lost at the bottom. Used properly, it's a fantastic food: fish graze like they do in the wild, it keeps them busy all day and feeds them very well.

I personally visited the Vitalis facility in the UK, and I was genuinely impressed by the quality and the way it's made: the same facilities used for human-grade food production, with extremely strict, elevated standards and dedicated rooms to prevent cross-contamination. I couldn't believe my eyes when I toured the plant.

Vitalis Marine Grazer contains copper — is it a problem in a reef tank?

The copper listed in the additives (19.3 mg per kg of food) is a trace nutritional element, essential to fish metabolism. It is not to be confused with a copper-based medication: it is a dietary component, as found in most complete fish foods.

How do I attach the grazing ring to the aquarium glass?

The suction fixing is included in the pot: clean the glass area, press the suction cup on and slide the ring onto it. Note: Vitalis has announced that the adhesive "tack" component of its fixings is temporarily unavailable due to global supply issues.
