Component C 200 ml — Iodine and Fluorine Trace Elements for Hard Coral Color - Aquaforest

Aquaforest Component C 200 ml is a liquid iodine and fluorine supplement that makes up minor deficiencies of these trace elements in marine aquariums.

Aquaforest gives 5 ml of Component C per 100 L (26.4 US gal) of water, once a week, in a mixed reef aquarium. For calcium, alkalinity and magnesium, Aquaforest offers Component 1+2+3+ instead.

What Aquaforest Component C is for

According to the Aquaforest page, the skimmer and filter media strip trace elements from the water of a closed system, which is why they have to be put back. The Aquaforest Component C formula follows the ratios found in natural seawater. The manufacturer states that iodine is involved in cell function and nutrient transfer, that fluorine takes part in calcification and skeletal development, and that Component C strengthens hard coral coloration, blue and violet above all, while bringing out the white of SPS. Aquaforest adds that the concentration of Component C keeps the risk of overdosing low, which makes it usable by a beginner.

• Mixed reef aquarium: 5 ml per 100 L (26.4 US gal) of water, once a week.
• Based on calcium consumption: 1 ml for every 20 ppm per 100 L (26.4 US gal) of water.
• Balling method: 20 ml per litre of KH Buffer solution.
• With Components A and B: leave 5 minutes between each dose.
• Do not mix or store the Components in the same container.
