Brightwell Replenish 250 ml — Essential reef trace element mix Reef Marine Aquarium - Brightwell
Available
Brightwell Replenish — 29 minor and trace minerals in natural seawater ratios
The Brightwell Replenish supplies 29 minor and trace minerals lost through mechanical filtration, skimming, and biological uptake in a marine or reef aquarium. Formulated in the United States by Brightwell Aquatics, it only contains elements with "non-conservative" behavior in seawater — those whose concentration changes over time because living organisms consume or release them. Elements not required by marine organisms are deliberately excluded — Brightwell names lithium, rubidium, and molybdenum. Iodine is also excluded — Brightwell recommends supplementing it separately with Lugol's Solution.
What Replenish is for and when to use it
- Water-change companion — rebuilding minor minerals between water changes on a tank where aggressive skimming strips traces fast.
- ULNS tanks short on traces — when ICP flags targeted drops on zinc, iron, manganese, cobalt, and other elements critical to invertebrate health.
- Support for filter feeders — softies, sponges, and inverts actively drawing from the trace-element stock.
Brightwell official dosing
- Basic dose: 0.5 mL (~10 drops) per 25 US gal every other day.
- Advanced dose: weeks 1-4, 1 mL per 10 US gal weekly (~0.14 mL or 3 drops daily). Weeks 5-8, ramp up to 2 mL per 10 US gal weekly.
- Daily dosing maintains a more stable concentration than weekly.

Why choose Brightwell at ReefSolution
- Brightwell KoralColor — the biochrome supplement aimed at coral pigments, a complement to Replenish.
- Brightwell Lugol's Solution — the reef iodine to dose separately since Replenish does not contain it.
- Brightwell Restor — the coral tissue nutrition to add and round out the growth + coloration + traces trio.
Frequently asked questions
How many elements does Replenish contain?
Brightwell publishes 29 minor and trace minerals in natural seawater ratios. Elements not required by marine organisms are deliberately excluded — Brightwell names lithium, rubidium, and molybdenum — as is iodine, which requires its own supplementation via Lugol's.
Should Replenish be dosed daily or weekly?
Brightwell explicitly recommends daily dosing over weekly — it maintains a more stable concentration and a more natural environment. Weekly dosing spikes concentration right after the dose and then drops gradually.
How long does a 250 mL Replenish bottle last?
At the basic dose (0.5 mL per 25 US gal every other day) on a 100 US gal tank: about 2 mL per day, or 125 days (4 months) per 250 mL bottle.
Can Replenish replace a water change?
No — Replenish complements water changes, it doesn't replace them. A water change also removes accumulated unwanted compounds (residual nitrates, DOC), which Replenish does not.
