Salifert Magnesium Test Kit

Magnesium is present in natural seawater in a fairly high concentration (1350 - 1500 mg/L) and is an essential element of chlorophyll which is necessary for photosynthesis. Without photosynthesis, algae and coral would not be able to survive.

Magnesium also helps maintain the correct calcium concentration and alkalinity by slowing the formation of calcium carbonate which can absorb many trace elements important to the aquarium.

Maintaining the correct magnesium concentration is therefore very important and is indirectly responsible for the growth of coral and calcareous algae by helping to maintain optimal calcium and alkalinity.

The Magnesium Salifert Profi-test is easy to use and accurate with measurements in steps of 30 mg/L.

The results are not affected by calcium and strontium interference.

Sufficient for 50 trials.
