The Scribbled Angel is an unusual and highly sought after fish. Its colors are a super saturated bright lemon yellow and sapphire blue. The face and tail are yellow and a dark blue stripe covers the eyes. The body is blue and that of the male has dark, sinuous stripes that extend from head to tail, while the body of the female is covered in dark polka dots.
The scribbled angel can grow to about 10 inches long and needs an aquarium of at least 180 gallons. It does not enjoy living with other large angelfish and can become aggressive towards them, but it is generally not aggressive towards other types of fish.
Angelfish can chomp on many types of corals, especially LPS corals, clam coats, sponges, and sometimes soft corals. They generally do not disturb SPS corals or other types of invertebrates. They feel safest when there are plenty of live rocks to hide in, as well as open space to swim. The diet should include plenty of sea algae and spirulina, sponge matter, frozen Mysis shrimp, half-shell clams and other high-quality meat products. It should be fed 2 to 3 times a day.
