The Scribbled Angelfish is an uncommon and highly sought-after fish. Its colors are a super-saturated, vibrant lemon yellow and sapphire blue. The face and tail are yellow, and a dark blue band covers the eyes. The body is blue, and the male's body has dark, sinuous stripes that extend from head to tail, while the female's body is covered in dark spots.

The scribbled angelfish can grow to about 10 inches long and needs an aquarium of at least 180 gallons. It does not like living with other large angelfish and can become aggressive towards them, but it is generally not aggressive towards other types of fish.

Angelfish may nibble on many types of coral, especially LPS corals, mantle clams, sponges, and sometimes soft corals. They generally do not bother SPS corals or other types of invertebrates. They feel most secure when there is plenty of live rock to hide in, as well as an open swimming area. Their diet should include plenty of seaweed and spirulina, sponge material, frozen mysis shrimp, half-shelled clams, and other high-quality meaty foods. They should be fed two to three times a day.
