The Red Sea Net Cover spline roller is the small wheeled tool that presses the rubber spline — and the mesh along with it — into the groove of the aluminum frame. Red Sea designates it (R) in its parts nomenclature.

A spare part, not a required purchase

Let's be straight about it: every complete Net Cover kit already includes one. Red Sea lists it explicitly in the contents of all its sizes, from 60x60 cm up to 180x80 cm. You do not need to buy this one if you're building your first cover.

It's here for three cases: yours went missing between tank moves, you build several covers and want a second tool on hand, or you're re-tensioning an old cover whose original kit is incomplete.

Take your time. The Net Cover is a cut-it-yourself kit: go slowly. It goes together well, but it doesn't go together fast. And before you cut anything, watch the tutorial all the way through — everything is shown in it.

With the roller, work in short sections rather than one long push. That's what gives you straight, evenly tensioned mesh instead of a cover that ripples.
