Net Cover Replacement Netting 4 m x 80 cm — Transparent 8 mm Mesh - Red Sea

$34.99

Available

The Red Sea Net Cover replacement netting is the mesh on its own, without the frame: a 4 m x 80 cm (13 ft x 31 in) roll of transparent 8 mm (5/16") thin-strand netting, cut to your cover's dimensions. Red Sea designates it (N) in its parts nomenclature.

Why the mesh gets replaced

A Net Cover's aluminum frame lasts for years. The mesh eventually pays the price of salt, water and handling: a tear during a cleaning, a nick from pulling the skimmer out, tension that let go after a tank move. This roll lets you redo the netting without buying a new frame.

It's also the roll you reach for when a first cut goes wrong — it happens, this is a DIY kit.

How much mesh each size uses

Red Sea publishes the quantity included in each kit: 2 m on the 60x60 cm, 3 m on the 90x60 and 120x80 cm, 4 m on the 150x80 and 180x80 cm. The 4 m roll therefore covers any of the five sizes in full.

Our advice

Take your time. The Net Cover is a cut-it-yourself kit: go slowly. It goes together well, but it doesn't go together fast. And before you cut anything, watch the tutorial all the way through — everything is shown in it.

Cut generous and trim after: you can always take surplus off, you can never add it back.

Others in the same family

This netting mounts on the Red Sea Aquarium Net Cover frame, held by the 8 m replacement spline pressed in with the spline roller. If the frame sags across a long span, add hanging clips.

Frequently asked questions

What's the mesh size?

8 mm (5/16"), thin-strand and transparent — the same netting used in the original Net Cover kits.

Is one roll enough for my size?

Yes, for all five Red Sea sizes: the largest, the 180x80 cm, uses 4 m — exactly the length of the roll.

Can it be cut with ordinary scissors?

Red Sea states the netting is cut to size without prescribing a particular tool. If you see a specific tool recommended elsewhere, it doesn't come from the manufacturer.

Does the mesh let light through?

It's transparent and thin-strand, designed to stay discreet on an open-top tank. Red Sea publishes no light-loss percentage for this netting — any figure you see elsewhere doesn't come from them. Write to us if it's a deciding factor for your lighting.
