Reef Complete - 500 ml

Calcium is one of the most important building blocks for coral growth and development. Seachem Reef Complete is a concentrated (160,000 mg/L) optimized blend of liquid ionic calcium designed to replicate the calcium levels found in natural seawater, allowing you to create an environment conducive to successful marine aquarium keeping. In addition to calcium, marine ecosystems also require magnesium and strontium, which Seachem Reef Complete contains in amounts proportional to typical usage ratios (100:5:0.1, Ca:Mg:Sr). This makes it easy for aquarists to maintain these two essential elements while maintaining optimal calcium levels.

This formula is a blend and not just calcium chloride. Unlike other commercially available ionic calcium supplements, Seachem Reef Complete is blended at a higher pH to ensure harmful ammonia gases are released into the atmosphere and not into the water column. Additionally, this solution is one of the most concentrated on the market, containing 160,000 ppm of calcium, compared to only 110,000 ppm for the closest competitor. Packaged in a 500 ml bottle.

Instructions for use:

Beginner

Use 1 capful (5 ml) per 80 L of aquarium water twice a week. As a safety precaution, check calcium levels every two weeks and carefully adjust the amount or frequency of doses according to the specific needs of your aquarium.

Advance

Check calcium levels, then follow the addition schedule until calcium levels reach an optimal level of 380 to 420 mg/L. Each 5 ml/80 L dose increases calcium levels by approximately 10 mg/L. The amount or frequency can be adjusted, but do not exceed 12.5 ml/80 L per day. Use as needed to maintain ideal calcium levels.

Expert

After determining the aquarium's calcium consumption, set up a continuous drip system to facilitate dosing. Use the following formula to determine the amount to add to your top-up water: m = vc/160 (m = ml of product to add to the top-up water, v = tank volume in liters, c = amount to increase calcium in mg/L). [For reference: 1 US gallon = 3.8 L].

Do not overdose:

Excess calcium can contribute to the depletion of carbonate alkalinity. Do not mix Seachem Reef Complete directly with a carbonate supplement. It is strongly recommended that calcium and carbonate additives be added every other day or at least 30 minutes apart.
