No — even with Life Bio Fil, growing a bacterial biomass big enough to support a full nutrient load takes 1-2 weeks. First inhabitants (few, hardy) can be added gradually after NH3 and NO2 stay below detection threshold for several consecutive days.

Should I replace 100 % of the media after 6 weeks?

No — Aquaforest recommends replacing 10-20 % at a time, every 6 weeks. That gradually refreshes the bacterial stock without breaking tank biological balance. A full simultaneous swap would trigger a mini-cycle crash.

Does Life Bio Fil keep in sealed packaging?

Yes — sterile packaging holds the bacteria for several months at room temperature. Once opened and installed in the tank, the media is active immediately. Prolonged storage in an opened pack progressively drains bacterial vitality.
