What Pro Carbon removes

Pro Carbon rapidly improves water quality by adsorbing harmful toxins, impurities, organic wastes, medication residues and more. It's also what erases yellow tint from the water and restores clarity.

The low-phosphate advantage

Impure carbons can leach phosphate — their POI index sometimes runs as high as 14 — which feeds nuisance algae and interferes with stony coral growth. Pro Carbon posts one of the lowest POI levels in the industry: just 1.3. Less phosphate released, less algae risk.

Directions per Polyplab

Rinse Pro Carbon with fresh clean water before use to remove carbon dust.
Place it between layers of fine filter media, in an area of your sump with strong flow.
It's also perfect for media reactors.
Polyplab does not publish a precise ml/gallon ratio: adjust the amount to your system volume and replace when performance drops (less clear water, tint returning).

Good to know

Activated carbon also adsorbs the amino acids and supplements you dose. If you run Colors, RF Acids or RF Fuel, avoid running Pro Carbon continuously — many reefers use it a few days at a time rather than permanently.
