Red Sea ReefLED G2 60 / 115 / 170W — Reef-Safe REEF-SPEC LED Light for Corals
Available
The Red Sea ReefLED G2 is the new generation of 100% Reef-Safe LED lighting for reef aquariums. Built on 35 years of research into coral needs in captive environments, the ReefLED G2 features a new LED chip with an enriched REEF-SPEC spectrum — more violet, ultra-violet and a boosted 470nm blue — for coral fluorescence and coloration like never before. Available in three power levels (60W, 115W and 170W), the range covers every tank size from nano reefs to large REEFER systems. Color temperature is tunable from 8,000K (reef-white) to 23,000K (REEF-SPEC Blue), at full power from 10,000K and up.
REEF-SPEC Spectrum — 100% Reef-Safe
The REEF-SPEC spectrum delivers only the wavelengths useful for zooxanthellae photosynthesis (380-480 nm), without the harmful wavelengths (greens, yellows, reds) that generate excess heat and oxygen radicals toxic to corals. The ReefBeat app automatically checks your settings and warns you if daily light exposure exceeds the recommended limits for coral health.

Our advice
I really like the ReefLEDs — we use them more and more in the store. We used to run Radions, but we keep switching over. I like the focal point that creates shimmer in the water, unlike other lights. The color is superb. We've switched several of our systems that ran on Radion Blues over to ReefLEDs. I endorse them: I use them and I love them.

Frequently asked questions
Which ReefLED G2 for a Red Sea REEFER 350?
The REEFER 350 typically uses 2 x ReefLED G2 170 or 3 x ReefLED G2 115 depending on depth and coral type. For a mixed reef, 2 x G2 170 give full coverage. For an SPS-dominant system, 3 x G2 115 at 50 cm spacing deliver more uniform PAR.
What is the REEF-SPEC spectrum and why does it matter?
REEF-SPEC is exclusive to Red Sea. It delivers only the 380-480 nm wavelengths useful for zooxanthellae photosynthesis, without the harmful wavelengths that can damage corals. The ReefBeat app automatically monitors your settings to keep exposure within safe limits.
Is the ReefLED G2 compatible with the older ReefLED 50/90/160S mounts?
The G2 hanging kit is compatible with the older 50, 90 and 160S models. For mounting arms, check model-specific compatibility: the 90/115 arm and the 160S/170 arm are separate parts.
