Its greater length is ideal for deeper tanks, sumps, or when extra clearance above the water is needed.

Flex Arm 18 in. vs 12 in. — Which One?

The 18 in. Flex Arm offers more height and reach than the 12 in. It is recommended for deeper aquariums, sumps where the Prime Fuge needs to be mounted higher, or when extra clearance above the tank is needed (lids, fans). The 12 in. Flex Arm is better suited for nano and medium tanks where the light is positioned close to the water surface.

Does the Flex Arm 18 in. work on a rimmed aquarium?

Yes. The Flex Arm is compatible with both rimless and rimmed aquariums, as long as the total rim thickness does not exceed 30 mm (1.2 in.).
