The captive-bred striped dottyback, also known as the Sankey's dottyback, is a beautiful black and white striped fish. Its dorsal fin and caudal fin edges are transparent. Once rare in home aquariums, it is now more common thanks to successful captive breeding programs.

An aquarium of 127 liters or more, with plenty of hiding places, is ideal. It feeds on pests such as bristleworms, making it an ideal fish for reef tanks. If several Dottybacks are kept together in the aquarium, it is important to include them simultaneously and provide plenty of hiding places among the rocks.

Captive bred Pseudochromis are very hardy and resilient fish, making them a perfect addition for beginners or experienced aquarists.

Captive-bred striped dottybacks should be fed a varied diet, including foods specifically formulated for carnivores. In a reef aquarium, captive-bred striped dottybacks should be fed once a day.

Approximate size at purchase: 2.5 to 6.5 cm
