Chromodoris lubocki (Colored Sea Slug)

Chromodoris lubocki is an Indo-Pacific nudibranch with an elaborate coloration—a white or cream background with blue, black, or orange lines and distinctive gills. Nudibranchs are the "jewels of the reef" for their extraordinary beauty.

Highly specialized species: Reserved for very experienced aquarists. Very specific dietary needs that are difficult to meet in captivity.

Food — A critical point

Chromodoris feed exclusively on specific sponges ( Dysidea spp.). Without a regular supply of these sponges, they rapidly decline — the main cause of mortality in captivity.

Recommended conditions

• Temperature: 24–27°C — Salinity: 1.025–1.026, very stable
• pH: 7.8–8.4 (normal natural day/night fluctuation in a reef tank)
• Mature tank with appropriate sponges — required
