Neon Tip Anemone

The Neon Tip Anemone is a reef anemone with long, slender tentacles ending in neon green or fluorescent blue tips that are particularly vibrant under actinic lighting. This type of neon-tipped anemone includes several species and morphs characterized by this spectacular light effect. It is highly sought after for its unique aesthetic in the reef aquarium.

Requirements

• Lighting: strong — 150–300 PAR, actinic to reveal fluorescence
• Water flow: moderate, non-directional
• Temperature: 25–27°C stable — Salinity: 1.025–1.026 stable
• pH: 7.8–8.4 (normal natural day/night fluctuation in a reef tank)
• Alkalinity: 8–9 dKH — Calcium: 400–450 ppm
• Mature tank — minimum 6 months

Behavior

Attaches to well-lit rocky or sandy substrates. Stinging tentacles — keep away from corals.

Food

Feed 2–3 times per week with pieces of shrimp or carnivore food.
