The Purple Bubble Tip Anemone is a highly sought-after morph of Entacmaea quadricolor , with bulbous tentacles ranging from deep violet to intense purple. This rare color morph is particularly prized by collectors. It is a natural host for the clownfish Amphiprion ocellaris and A. percula .

Requirements

  • Lighting: strong to very strong — 200–350 PAR
  • Water flow: moderate to strong, non-directional
  • Temperature: 25–27°C — Salinity: 1.025–1.026 stable
  • pH: 7.8–8.4 (normal natural day/night fluctuation in a reef tank)
  • Alkalinity: 8–9 dKH — Calcium: 400–450 ppm
  • Bac mature minimum 6 months

Behavior

It attaches itself to a well-lit rock crevice after introduction. Stinging tentacles – exclusion zone around corals. Divides by binary fission under good conditions.

Food

Feed 2–3 times per week with shrimp, mussels or carnivorous food.

Compatibility

Ideal with Amphiprion ocellaris , A. percula . Incompatible with butterflyfish.
