Red / Orange Crab

The Red/Orange Crab is a marine crab native to the Indo-Pacific, prized for its vibrant red to orange coloration and active behavior. It is suitable for reef aquariums when well-fed. Its colorful appearance makes it a visually appealing inhabitant.

Recommended conditions

• Temperature: 24–27°C — Salinity: 1.023–1.026
• pH: 7.8–8.4 (normal natural day/night fluctuation in a reef tank)
• Alkalinity: 8–10 dKH — Numerous rocks and cavities

Behavior

Primarily nocturnal. Consumes algae, detritus, and leftover food. In well-fed tanks, it remains compatible with corals. Can become opportunistic if underfed.

Food

Omnivorous — algae, pellets, food scraps. Feed regularly.
