Marine Care Multi Test Kit — Cycling Test Set for Marine Aquariums - Red Sea

Marine Care Multi Test Kit: the five tests that matter at startup
The Red Sea Marine Care kit brings together the five analyses that count during the biological maturation of a new marine system: ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH and alkalinity. It then carries on serving fish-only tank maintenance.
Everything is housed in a chemical-resistant plastic case, with the manufacturer's instruction sheet.
Official specifications
| Test | Accuracy | Range | Method | Tests |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ammonia NH3/NH4 | 0.2 ppm | 0 to 2 ppm | Colorimetric | 100 |
| Nitrate NO3 | 2 ppm | 0 to 250 ppm | Colorimetric | 100 |
| Nitrite NO2 | 0.05 ppm | 0 to 1 ppm | Colorimetric | 60 |
| pH | 0.2 | 7.6 to 8.6 | Colorimetric | 100 |
| Alkalinity dKH | 1 dKH / 0.36 meq/L | unlimited | Titration | 55 |
Why these five parameters
During cycling, ammonia rises, then converts to nitrite, then to nitrate. Following all three in sequence is the only way to know where your tank actually stands and when it is ready to receive livestock. pH and alkalinity complete the picture of chemical stability.
To speed up and secure that stage, see the Mature Pro Starter Kit. Once the tank is mature and stocked with corals, it's fine NO3 and PO4 you need to track — that's the job of the Algae Control kit, with its far higher resolution.
Our advice
An aquarium is a closed vessel — nothing is lost, nothing is created. What you put in stays in. That's true from day one, and it's why a startup is run on numbers, not on appearances.
In 35 years in this trade, the problem we see most is the tank stocked too fast because "it looks fine." Clear water means nothing: ammonia and nitrite are invisible. Test, wait until they fall back to zero, then introduce livestock slowly.
Who we steer away from it: nobody starting a marine tank. This is the bare minimum. That said, if your tank is already established and full of corals, this kit isn't fine enough for you — go with the Algae Control instead.
Frequently asked questions
What tests are in the Red Sea Marine Care kit?
Five: ammonia (100 tests), nitrate (100 tests), nitrite (60 tests), pH (100 tests) and alkalinity in dKH (55 titration tests).
How long does cycling a marine aquarium take?
Red Sea publishes no fixed duration: the cycle is done when ammonia and nitrite have fallen back to zero and nitrate appears. That's what the tests tell you, not the calendar. If you see a guaranteed number of days somewhere, it doesn't come from the manufacturer.
Is this kit enough for an established reef tank?
No. Nitrate here reads to 2 ppm, which is too coarse for a low-nutrient reef system. For that you need the Nitrate Pro and Phosphate Pro in the Algae Control kit.
Are calcium and magnesium included?
No. Marine Care covers ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH and alkalinity only.
