Red Sea ReefControl Power 8 — Smart Power Center with 8 Controlled 120V Outlets and ReefBeat

$539.99

Available

The Red Sea ReefControl Power 8 is the smart power center of the ReefControl family: eight 120V outlets, each controlled individually from the ReefBeat app. Every outlet switches, schedules and programs separately, and the bar tracks each device's power draw — it is what gives ReefControl controllers the power to shut down an overheating heater or alert you when a pump stops drawing current. Total capacity: 1,875W, the standard limit of a North American 15A circuit.

What the ReefControl Power 8 controls and measures

Per Red Sea's official documentation, each of the 8 outlets is controlled individually in ReefBeat: schedules, maintenance scenarios, remote shutoff. The bar measures consumption per outlet — you see in the app how much your lights, heater or skimmer draw. Paired with a ReefControl Pro or Lite controller and its ReefSense probes, outlets react to live readings: temperature too high, the heater cuts off; leak detected, the pump stops.

Specifications — North American model

  • 8 individually controlled NEMA 120V outlets

  • 16A relay per outlet — the real limit remains the bar's total capacity
  • Dimensions: 16.2 in × 3.4 in × 3 in (41.1 cm × 8.6 cm × 7.6 cm)
  • Per-outlet power monitoring in ReefBeat

What does 1,875W mean in practice?

It is not unlimited. A 300W heater, a 500W chiller, the return pump, wavemakers, skimmer and lights — you approach the limit quickly. On a large system, the prudent practice is to split the big consumers — heater and chiller — across two bars instead of one. It also protects the room's electrical circuit.

Our advice

"It's really with the ReefControl Power that you unlock everything the Red Sea ecosystem can do. With it you can control all your equipment on/off, measure the electricity, and get alarms if a pump or a device stops working — because they measure the current, the amperage. It's really a great product." — Stéphane, ReefSolution

Frequently asked questions

Can I plug everything into the ReefControl Power 8?

Up to 1,875W total. Do the math on your gear: heater + chiller + pumps + lights can exceed the limit on a big system — in that case, two bars beat one.

Does the Power 8 work without a ReefControl controller?

The bar is managed in the ReefBeat app. For outlets to react automatically to probes — heater shutoff on overheat, pump stop on a leak — you need a ReefControl controller and its ReefSense probes.

What is the difference with the Power 8 Deluxe?

The same bar, shipped with the Control Panel 8 — the physical button panel to switch outlets without pulling out your phone. It costs less than buying both separately.

Does the bar measure power consumption?

Yes, outlet by outlet, in ReefBeat. That is what makes the alarms possible: a device that stops drawing current shows up immediately.
