Behavior

Basslets are shy fish that live in rock crevices. The Royal Gramma is known to swim upside down under rocky overhangs! They establish a territory around their favorite crevice and return to it regularly.

Maintenance Requirements

• Minimum aquarium size - 10-30 gallons depending on the species
• Living rocks - With numerous cavities and overhangs
• Food - Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, cyclops, fine pellets
• Compatibility - Peaceful, avoid aggressive fish
• Territorial with each other - Only one basslet per small aquarium
• Lid - May jump out if frightened

Advice

Acclimate slowly over 1-2 hours. Feed twice a day. Basslets are perfect for beginners due to their hardiness. The Royal Gramma is one of the most popular fish in the reef hobby. Make sure you have several crevices in the rocks so they feel secure.
