HMS Hydra 52/64 Bracket — Mounts Hydra 64HD to the HMS Rail - AquaIllumination

The HMS Hydra 52/64 bracket is the part that connects your fixture to the HMS rail. Per AquaIllumination, it lets you mount one Hydra 52 or Hydra 64 to the HMS rail.

It's a connector, not a complete mount. Read the following before ordering — there are two cases where you don't need it.

⚠️ The HMS Rail Is Sold Separately

This bracket does nothing on its own. It attaches your fixture to an HMS rail, and the rail is sold separately. Per AquaIllumination, the HMS rail comes in lengths from 24 to 72 inches and is compatible with both the HMS 2-arm kit and the HMS Hanging Kit.

We don't stock HMS rails, but we're an authorized AquaIllumination dealer — write us and we'll order one for you along with the bracket. That way you don't end up with a part you can't use.

⚠️ It's Already Included with HMS Single Arm Kits

AquaIllumination states it plainly: the 52/64 bracket is included with HMS Single Arm kits.

So if you're mounting one fixture and you buy the HMS Single Arm Kit, the bracket is already in the box. Don't buy this one on top.

So Who Needs This Bracket?

Two cases, essentially:

• You're adding a fixture to an HMS rail you already have. Every fixture on the rail needs its own bracket.
• You lost or broke the original bracket.

If you're in either of those, this is exactly the right part.

The Hydra 64HD Mounts by HMS Only

An important fact AquaIllumination documents officially: because of its size, the Hydra 64HD can only be mounted using HMS mounting or hanging systems.

No flex arm, no ordinary tank mount, no alternative. If you have a 64HD, HMS is your only route — and this bracket is part of it.

The HMS System in Brief

Per AquaIllumination, the Hydra Mounting System is designed to provide an easy to use, adjustable tank mount solution for the Hydra TwentySix, Hydra FiftyTwo and Hydra HD LEDs. It allows vertical, horizontal and rotational adjustment, with a slim profile and integrated cord management.

The configurations the manufacturer lists:

• Mounting: single and dual arm configurations
• Hanging: with the HMS Hanging Kit, individual or multiple lights
• Rail: 24 to 72in., compatible with the 2-arm kit and the hanging kit

Compatibility

• Hydra 52 and Hydra 52HD
• Hydra 64HD

This bracket doesn't fit the Hydra Edge. The Edge 44HD and 68HD have their own adapter kits because of their edge mounts and pivoting capability — see the Hydra Edge mounting kit.

It doesn't fit Prime fixtures either. The Prime has its own hardware.

Yes. AquaIllumination states this bracket lets you mount a Hydra 52 or Hydra 64 to the HMS rail. It covers the Hydra 52HD as well. And this matters: per AquaIllumination, the Hydra 64HD, because of its size, can only be mounted using HMS systems — there's no alternative.

Do I need an HMS rail to use this bracket?

Yes. The bracket connects the fixture to the rail; it doesn't work alone. The HMS rail comes in 24 to 72in. and is sold separately. We don't stock rails but we can order them — write us before placing your order so we can put the whole thing together.

Is the bracket included with the HMS Single Arm Kit?

Yes. AquaIllumination specifies that the 52/64 bracket is included with HMS Single Arm kits. If you're mounting one fixture with a Single Arm kit, don't buy this bracket on top. It's mainly for adding a fixture to an existing rail, or replacing a lost bracket.

How many brackets do I need for two fixtures?

Two — one per fixture. The HMS rail lets you mount several Hydras side by side, but each fixture needs its own bracket to attach to it.

Does this bracket work with a Hydra Edge or a Prime?

No, neither. The Hydra Edge requires its own size-specific adapter kits (44HD or 68HD) because of its edge mounts and pivoting capability. The Prime has entirely separate hardware. This bracket is for the Hydra 52, 52HD and 64HD only.
