The Red Head Solon is also known as the tricolor Napoleon wrasse, the red Napoleon wrasse, or the red-eyed Napoleon wrasse. Some aquarists consider it another color form of the Blueside Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura). The Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse has a blue body with a bright red stripe along its dorsal edge and a bright yellow-orange face. The colors can vary to other shades of blue and purple depending on the fish's mood. During courtship, the male will display increased color intensity.
The Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse will thrive in a fish-only or reef aquarium of 90 gallons or more. It needs a shaded area away from bright lights. They won't bother corals or invertebrates, making them an ideal reef aquarium fish. These Napoleon wrasse like to jump, so a well-fitting canopy is recommended.

The Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse diet should include vitamin-enriched frozen mysis prawns, vitamin-enriched frozen brined prawns and other meat-based foods, along with high-quality marine flakes and marine pellets.
