DI Resin Cartridge 10" x 2.5" – Refillable Color Changing Resin
Available
10" x 2.5" refillable DI color-changing resin cartridge
Refillable 10 x 2.5" DI cartridge with color-changing resin, designed for the final stage of a RO/DI system in a reef aquarium. This mixed-bed cartridge removes the last dissolved ions, producing ultra-pure water with a TDS level close to 0, ideal for sensitive corals, clams, and invertebrates.
The great advantage is the visual indicator : the resin changes from a dark color to a light shade when it is exhausted, allowing for precise and guesswork-free replacement.
📏 Specifications
- Dimensions: 10" x 2.5"
- Type: Refillable cartridge
- Resin: Color-changing cation/anion mixed-bed
- Compatibility: Standard 10-inch RO/DI cases
💧 Typical use
Install as the final step after sediment, GAC, and/or carbon block to obtain the highest quality reverse osmosis water. When the resin changes color, it's time to replace the cartridge or recharge the resin.
✅ Key Benefits
- Ultra-pure 0 TDS water for reef aquariums, protecting tank chemistry and delicate animals
- Rechargeable , therefore economical: only the resin is replaced, not the entire cartridge body
- A clear visual indicator to know exactly when to intervene, reducing usage errors
- Standard 10 x 2.5" compatibility , easily integrated into most RO/DI enclosures
- A suitable format for regular hobbyists and professionals, facilitating storage and supply
🔄 When to replace or recharge
- As soon as the resin changes color towards the light shade indicating exhaustion
- If the output TDS exceeds 0–1 ppm, even if the color is not completely clear
- Depending on the volume of water produced, the quality of the incoming RO water, and the frequency of use
🔧 How to recharge quickly
- Open the cartridge or the lid provided
- Empty the old, exhausted resin
- Fill with new color-changing resin, sold separately
- Close, reconnect, and check the TDS
💡 Usage tips for optimal setup
- Before using the DI (Direct Injection) system , use a good pre-filter: sediment and/or GAC (Gas Acid Filter) to reduce chlorine, odors, particles, and organic matter. This protects the DI resin and extends the time between refills.
- Avoid using too many final media : a high-quality DI with a good pre-filter is more efficient than stacking similar blocks downstream.
- Keep spare resin sachets on hand to refill immediately when color change occurs, without interrupting ultrapure water production.
