Lysmata debelius (Fire Shrimp)

The Fire Shrimp ( Lysmata debelius ) is one of the most beautiful marine shrimp—a brilliant bright red body with long white antennae. Native to the Indo-Pacific, it is more timid than the Common Fire Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis ), which makes it all the more precious when it does appear.
His role in the baccalaureate
Cleaner shrimp — removes parasites and debris from fish. Less active as a cleaner than L. amboinensis but contributes to the removal of organic waste.
Recommended conditions
- Temperature: 24–27°C — Salinity: 1.023–1.026
- pH: 7.8–8.4 (normal natural day/night fluctuation in a reef tank)
- Alkalinity: 8–10 dKH — Minimum volume: 100L
- Numerous essential rock cavities — very shy
Behavior
Shy — often remains hidden in crevices. Adapts gradually. Molts regularly. Hermaphrodite. More active at night.
Compatibility
Pacific with corals and reef fish. To be avoided with large wrasses and crustacean predators.
