The Polyplab Genesis Rock 4-Pack brings together four ultra-porous synthetic ceramic rocks — the format built to shape a full aquascape or reinforce the biological filtration of a large system. As with the single set, bacteria aren't included: you seed them with the product of your choice.

Setup (per Polyplab)

Preparation: rinse the rocks with purified water, or preferably aquarium water. Place them in a container filled with tank water, add your bacterial product (Polyplab recommends its Genesis bacteria), let stand at least 12 hours, then install the rocks. Without bacteria, you can place them directly after rinsing.

Placement by goal:

• Aerobic (nitrite/ammonia removal): above the water line, over a refugium or overflow, with water running over them (~40 gph).
• Anaerobic (nitrate removal): a very low-flow, low-oxygen area (under sand, quiet sump, aquascape).
• Mixed (general performance): a medium-flow area.

Avoid placing the rocks where they could rub against vibrating equipment (a skimmer) and get damaged.
