Reef Casa Drip Acclimation Kit - 1.2m Tubing Bulb Clip Flow Control - Reef Casa
Available
The Reef Casa Drip Acclimation Kit is a drip acclimation kit designed to facilitate the gradual introduction of your new fish, corals, and invertebrates into your aquarium. Proper acclimation reduces stress caused by differences in temperature, salinity, and water chemistry between the transport bag and your aquarium, significantly increasing the survival chances of your new animals. The kit includes a 1.2-meter tube, a custom aquarium clip, an automatic priming bulb, and an adjustment valve for precise control of the drip flow rate.
Key Benefits
- Controlled Acclimation: The adjustment valve allows precise control of the drip rate for a smooth transition to your aquarium's parameters.
- Priming Bulb: Easily create a siphon without sucking water by mouth — convenient and hygienic.
- Custom Aquarium Clip: Securely attaches the tube to the edge of your aquarium throughout the acclimation process.
- 1.2-meter Tube: Sufficient length to connect your aquarium to the acclimation bucket placed on the floor.
- Versatile: Works for both saltwater and freshwater aquariums.
- Durable Material: High-quality plastic resistant to saltwater and durable for repeated use.

Instructions for Use
Place your new animals in a clean bucket with the water from the transport bag. Attach the short tube of the kit to the edge of your aquarium using the provided clip. Place the other end of the tube into the bucket. Gently squeeze the priming bulb to create a siphon. Adjust the flow rate using the valve to achieve the desired drip rate (2-4 drops per second). Aim to double the water volume in the bucket every 30 minutes. For fish, increase salinity by 0.1 SG every 30 minutes. Once acclimation is complete (45-60 minutes for fish, 30-45 minutes for corals), gently transfer the animals to the aquarium. Never pour the water from the bucket into the aquarium to prevent contamination.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does drip acclimation take?
For fish, drip acclimation typically takes 45 to 60 minutes. For corals and invertebrates such as shrimp and snails, 30 to 45 minutes is sufficient. The goal is to double the water volume in the bucket at least once to allow for a gradual transition of water chemistry.
Is drip acclimation necessary for corals?
Yes. Even though corals are more resilient than fish to temperature changes, differences in salinity, pH, and alkalinity between the transport bag and your aquarium can stress corals. Drip acclimation for 30-45 minutes is recommended for all corals, especially sensitive SPS and invertebrates like shrimp.
Can I reuse the acclimation kit?
Yes. After each use, rinse the kit thoroughly with fresh water and allow it to dry completely before storing. The saltwater-resistant plastic is designed for multiple uses.
