The Yellow-Legged Hermit Crab ( Clibanarius virescens ) is a versatile cleaner native to the Indo-Pacific. Its distinctive yellow-green legs make it easily identifiable. Active and effective at controlling filamentous algae and removing waste from the substrate.

Consumes filamentous algae, cyanobacteria, diatoms and detritus. Stirs up the surface substrate as it moves.

Recommended conditions

• Temperature: 23–27°C — Salinity: 1.023–1.026
• pH: 7.8–8.4 (normal natural day/night fluctuation in a reef tank)
• Alkalinity: 8–10 dKH — Empty spare shells required
