Frozen Silversides Bio-Pure — 12 oz Flat Pack of Whole Fish - Hikari
Indisponible
Hikari Bio-Pure frozen silversides are whole fish, flat packed so you can pull out exactly the number you need. 12 oz (340 g) pack.
In this clip filmed at the store, we show how to turn an ordinary frozen food into something that feeds the fish and the rest of the tank.
The richest prey in the whole frozen range
The guaranteed analysis speaks for itself: minimum 9.5% crude protein and minimum 2.8% crude fat. No other Bio-Pure frozen food comes close — the mysis, brine shrimp and worms in the range run between 1.2% and 4% protein.
The reason is simple: this is not a shrimp, it is a whole fish. Hikari writes that silversides naturally contain all the nutrition of live fish.
Who it is for
Ideal For, per the manufacturer: freshwater and marine carnivores. This is the treat for the big eaters — the fish that hunts rather than grazes.
And if your fish are smaller than the prey, the manufacturer spells out what to do: cut the silverside into appropriate size pieces before dropping it in the aquarium. One pack is not just for the largest tank mates.
How to feed it
Use it as a daily treat, feeding no more than your fish will consume within about a minute. Remove whatever is left once the feeding period ends.
Hikari repeats it across its range: live or frozen food can spoil a fish to the point where it refuses its formulated diet. Feed it for variety, not as a replacement for complete nutrition.

Frequently asked questions
Which fish eat silversides?
Hikari intends the product for freshwater and marine carnivores. It is a whole prey item: it suits fish that hunt, and it can be cut into pieces for smaller ones.
Do silversides need to be cut?
Only if your fish are too small to swallow the whole prey. The manufacturer specifies cutting them into appropriate size pieces before dropping them in the aquarium.
Why is the protein so high?
Because this is a whole fish rather than a crustacean. Hikari's guaranteed analysis gives minimum 9.5% crude protein and 2.8% crude fat, against 1.2% to 4% for the other frozen foods in the range.
Shipping note: frozen food ships express in an insulated cooler with ice packs. Partial or complete thawing during transit is normal — especially in summer — and does not affect the product's quality for your fish. Dry ice would cost a fortune with zero quality benefit; we don't offer it. Be there to receive your package and place it directly in your freezer upon delivery.
