LRS Reef Frenzy Frozen — Complete 8 oz Blend for Reef Tanks - LRS Foods

$42.95

Indisponible

LRS Reef Frenzy is an 8 oz frozen blend built to feed an entire reef tank with a single product — fish and corals in the same mouthful. It is the original blend from LRS Foods.

In this clip filmed at the store, we show how to turn an ordinary frozen food into something that feeds the fish and the rest of the tank.

What is actually in it — the full list

LRS publishes its complete ingredient list, which few frozen food makers do:

  • Fresh wild caught scallop
  • Fresh wild caught, hand peeled shrimp
  • Fresh wild caught ocean perch and whitefish
  • Premium Piscine Energetics mysis shrimp
  • Squid
  • Euphausia pacifica krill
  • Fresh shucked oysters and clams
  • Zooplankton and rotifers
  • Seaweed (Porphyra)
  • Oyster eggs and ovarian tissue
  • Highly unsaturated fatty acids
  • Buffered ascorbic acid, added as an antioxidant
  • Beta carotene to boost pigmentation
  • LRS probiotics

Two things LRS states that others leave out

No phosphate rinse. The manufacturer specifies that every fresh ingredient on that list is free from any phosphate rinse, and that they are sourced at the Carolina Coast. Phosphate rinsing is standard practice in the seafood industry to retain water — in a reef tank, that is phosphate you pay for and then pay again to strip out with media.

Published lab results. LRS puts the lab analysis of its foods online. Anyone can check it, which is not the case for most frozen food on the market.

See it hit the water

LRS filmed a feeding on a large reef tank. Watch how cleanly the food disperses and how the fish chase down every particle.

What it changes in a tank

The particle size of the blend is deliberately mixed: pieces the fish grab in open water, and micro-particles — zooplankton, rotifers, oyster eggs — that corals and filter feeders capture. That is what separates a reef blend from a single frozen prey item.

If you would rather target one prey item, Hikari mysis or Cyclopod+ answer a different need.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Reef Frenzy and Fish Frenzy?

Fish Frenzy is the base recipe at LRS. Reef Frenzy adds the coral-specific micro-foods — zooplankton, rotifers, oyster eggs and ovarian tissue — while Fish Frenzy gets worms and fresh fish eggs instead.

Does Reef Frenzy really feed corals?

That is the manufacturer's intent: it presents Reef Frenzy as carrying all the nutrients needed to feed an entire reef aquarium in one 8 ounce package, coral micro-foods included. LRS publishes no dosing figure per volume of water.

Which mysis is in it?

Piscine Energetics — LRS names it in the ingredient list. That is the freshwater mysis from Okanagan Lake in British Columbia.

Shipping note: frozen food ships express in an insulated cooler with ice packs. Partial or complete thawing during transit is normal — especially in summer — and does not affect the product's quality for your fish. Dry ice would cost a fortune with zero quality benefit; we don't offer it. Be there to receive your package and place it directly in your freezer upon delivery.
