Reefer Overflow Box Cover — Genuine Overflow Lid R42181 - Red Sea

The Red Sea overflow box cover (part R42181) is the genuine lid that closes the built-in overflow of REEFER aquariums. It hides the downpipe plumbing and stops objects, food or fish from dropping into the overflow compartment.

What it's for

A REEFER's overflow box is the glass well in the corner of the tank where surface water spills down to the sump. Left open, it exposes the pipework, catches floating debris and stays an entry point for anything lying on the rim. The cover closes the top of it cleanly.

It's also the part you rebuy when the original has cracked, yellowed or gone missing — overflow lids are among the parts most often lost during a tank move.

Our advice

An overflow lid isn't exciting, but it's the part you go looking for the moment you need it — usually because you broke the original taking the plumbing apart. If you're moving your REEFER, set it aside with the screws: it's small, it's light, and it rarely makes it into the box.
